Research Focus: I need a student to assist with fish collections in the field, and macroinvertebrate collection and identification.

Potential Student Project(s): Macroinvertebrates of the Wabash River.

Attributes/skills/background sought in undergraduate: Ability to do field work on boat and wearing chest waders in a river. Interest in aquatic ecology.

Mentoring Plan: I plan to meet weekly with a student to assist with fish and macroinvertebrate identification skills. Futher analyses of fish and macroinvertebrate data will be part of the training of a student. A student is needed to assist with all aspects of a river ecology project. With experience a student will be able to use these data for a manuscript that could potentially be published. The student researcher will work 5 h/week on the project including a 1-on-1 interaction with me for at least 1 hour/week.
