Department: Educational Leadership
Research Focus: I am an Assistant Clinical Professor of Educational Leadership at Ball State University. I hold degrees in art education, educational psychology, gifted education, school superintendency, and educational administration and supervision.
My research agenda focuses on exploring academic, professional, and personal development and support systems for educational leaders in national and international settings. Recent study topics are related to educational leadership and integrative STEM education, doctoral student mentoring, school counseling and principal relationships, and supervision in international student teaching programs.
I taught and served as an administrator in PK-12 schools in the United States, South Korea, and Japan.
Potential Student Project(s):
Potential student projects may be related to:
- Educational leadership and integrative STEM education
- Doctoral student mentoring programs
- School counseling and principal relationships
- International educational opportunities
Attributes/skills/background sought in undergraduate: I would like to work with a student who is: organized, comfortable using a variety of online resources, passionate about writing and research, and excited to gain new knowledge.
Mentoring Plan: Similar to meetings with my graduate assistants, I would meet with the student for one hour each week. We would start with basic research skills- identifying high- quality, scholarly articles, conducting a lit. review, learning about IRB and Qualtrics, etc. The design of the research project would be a collaborative process, in order to ensure that the student gains meaningful and authentic experiences.
I enjoy mentoring students, and several students have published articles with me over the past 4 years.
