Adam Drummond graduated from Ball State University’s Teachers College in 2002, and has since earned his master’s (2005) and doctorate (2011 and 2014) degrees from the University. He is currently associate partner and author at the International Center for Leadership in Education. Here are Three Things To Know about Adam:
1. Adam’s “success as a person and educator” has its roots at Ball State: “The experiences I had at Ball State have contributed both personally and professionally in many ways. My wife and I started dating while at Ball State, and we created many lifelong friendships during college. We now bring our children back to campus annually to visit. Professionally, many doors have been opened to me because of the great education I have received. My advanced degrees contributed to opening a career path that gives me the privilege to work with school and district leaders across the globe.”
2. Adam encourages all Ball State alumni to find ways to contribute to their alma mater: “There is no question that alumni should reinvest in their alma mater. We need to pay it forward to our future students because the alumni before me paid it forward to us. Whether it’s through service to the University, an organization you were involved with as an undergraduate, or visiting campus during events like Homecoming, we must give back to our future because of our past. Whether it’s your time, your service, or your gifts, the University is strong because of you.”
3. Adam’s advice for future students to help them have a fulfilling career and meaningful lives? “Lean in to your professors, advisors, and staff at Ball State University. They have much to offer beyond what their ‘job’ is. I was mentored by so many wonderful Ball State staff — they helped mold me into the professional I am. To live your life to the fullest, continue to learn, love fiercely, and laugh daily.”
