Rani Deighe Crowe is an independent filmmaker and screenwriter as well as a theater and interdisciplinary artist. Her award-winning short films, includingSafety State, Quiet on SetTrying to Remember, Heather Has Four Moms, Welfare Check, Texting: A Love Story, Beautiful Eyes, The Test, Just in Case, and Unmasked, have screened in hundreds of festivals all over the world including BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival, Athens International Film and Video Festival, Final Girls Film Festival Berlin, Female Eye Film Festival Toronto, Southampton Film Festival UK, Sapporo Short film Festival Japan, Provincetown Film Festival, Tallgrass Film Festival, Woods Hole Film Festival, Chain NYC Film Festival, Bushwick Film Festival, Garden Route International Film Festival South Africa, the Mykonos Biennale, Broad Humor Film Festival Los Angeles, and Northern Wave International Film Festival Iceland.
 
Rani has served as a film festival screener for Athens International Film and Video Festival, Women and Minorities in Media Film Festival at Towsend University, The Valley Film Festival in Los Angeles, Gilbert Baker Film Festival, University Film and Video Association, That One Film Festival Muncie, and London Indie Film Festival.
 
Her essay, Crafting the Pilot: Someone Arrives comparing the Shonda Rhimes' narrative strategies for setting up diverse popular genre TV series with a female point of view across three pilot episodes, is a chapter in the first book of the Bloomsbury Press Screen Storytellers series,The Works of Shonda Rhimes, edited by Anna Weinstein.
