Research Focus: Pre-production research for the BSU dance concert Contemporary Collaborations with a focus on underrepresented female artists/figures in history.

Potential Student Project(s): Research will require a feminist approach that includes information on underrepresented female artists/figures throughout history that needed to hide their gender identity in order to acquire personal, reputable, and/or financial success.

Attributes/skills/background sought in undergraduate: Knowledge in Women's and Gender Studies, research abilities, clear writing and communications skills. Experience with dance/choreography preferred. Knowledge and/or interest in dance and/or the arts and performance.

Mentoring Plan: Rehearsals for the project will begin on January 9, 2023. Therefore work and research will have to take place over the winter break. I anticipate meeting with the selected student via Zoom as soon as possible to explain the project and scope and specifics of the work required. Student will work 5 hours per week on the project including 1-on-1 interactions with me for about 1 hour per week.
