Joseph Bartholomew is an Assistant Professor and MSW Program Director at Ball State University Department of Social Work. Dr. Bartholomew has taught in the BSW and MSW programs. His teaching areas are quantitative research, statistics, mental illness assessment, substance use disorder treatment modalities, and program evaluation. Dr. Bartholomew’s research focuses on interprofessional education and collaboration, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), substance use disorders (SUDs), stigma theory, social policy, and research communication. His career experience includes practice in community mental health and substance use treatment settings, program development and oversight, outpatient therapy services, and mental illness and SUD education training for civic, community, and corporate groups.
