In our program, you will discover more about yourself as you work to improve the quality of life for others; to advocate for social and economic justice for vulnerable populations; and to acquire the skills, knowledge, and values to work with diverse people. With more than 250 students in our major, we are the oldest accredited undergraduate program in the state, we give you the opportunity to explore more than just what’s in the textbooks.
Our department consists of about nine full-time faculty and four adjuncts, all of whom hold advanced social work degrees and have many years of practice experience. Read their bios.
Our alumni make up a significant portion of the social work workforce in east central Indiana and are viewed as excellent graduate school candidates in Indiana's master of social work programs, as well as graduate programs in the Midwest and across the country.
We also have an advisory board that helps with the needs of our department through input into our curriculum and assistance with future planning. See the members.
Our students work hard in and out of the classroom, and we like to recognize their success. Each year, we give an Outstanding Senior award to one of our students. See past recipients.
