Sarah Summerwell
Assistant Teaching Professor of Acting
Sarah Summerwell is a professional actor and theatre educator, specializing in heightened text/dialect work, vocal production, and intimacy coordination. Prior to joining the Ball State faculty in 2025, she spent three years teaching at the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, while continuing her work as a text coach and performer for multiple productions with the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and The Know Theatre. Sarah holds her MFA in Acting from the Hilberry Repertory Company at Wayne State University in Detroit, called NYC home for almost a decade, and is a member of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association. Currently working towards final certification in Knight-Thompson Speechwork, Sarah has recently completed her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training and is especially interested in exploring the connection between embodied breathwork and actor training.
