Just south of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana, lies a redevelopment area home to vital industry, declining commercial, and vacant land. Together with American Structurepoint, CAP:IC facilitated a design workshop to engage community stakeholders and develop alternative visions on how to redevelop the area to better capitalize on the millions of visitors who visit the Speedway each year.
The vision: Preserve existing industry while celebrating the racing heritage of the area in a mixed-use village that includes plenty of festival and gathering space for race days while providing for the daily use of nearby residents.
