There are plenty of opportunities to participate in variety of programs offerings and formats with Recreation Services! Our friendly students and staff make every effort to ensure your participation is a positive experience. We offer a variety of programs ranging from fitness, wellness, competition, adventure, youth and family activities, and many more!

Students
Rec Fit offers many trained instructors who teach a variety of fitness classes for all levels of fitness. We offer over 50 classes each week during the school year. Some of those include Cycling, Pilates, Zumba, PIYO, and strength training. These classes are offered year round and will challenge the fitness levels of all participants. Learn more.
Personal training provides a variety of options in collaboration with Studio 22 for students, faculty, staff, and alumni. All Personal Trainers are nationally certified and trained to provide the best experience to help assist you in meeting your goals. Learn more.
If you use fitness centers multiple days per week or don’t want to worry about washing and drying your fitness clothes, then our locker and apparel services will meet your needs. Lockers come in two sizes, half and full. Apparel Services will provide a pair of socks, shorts, and a shirt that will be washed after use. Learn more.

Land exercises sometimes do not meet the needs of all workout enthusiasts. We have two aquatic facilities: the Lewellen Aquatic Center and Ball Pool. Clinics and other program offerings are available throughout the year that provide a water-based learning experience. Learn more.
The ability to feel comfortable in the water and learn basic skills is the primary goal of Learn to Swim. By offering a variety of skill lessons, our Learn to Swim Program offers participants the opportunity to learn basics such as being comfortable jumping into the water to different swim strokes. This program is designed for children trying to learn more about water skills. Learn more.
Want to compete with your friends? Build your team today! Participate in a variety of sports and get the chance to earn the coveted Intramural Champion T-shirt. A variety of team sports are offered during each semester for both the moderate and avid competitors. Learn more.
You can still "find your niche" of competition by participating in over 25 different Sport Clubs ranging from Soccer to Martial Arts. Learn more.
Cardinal Kids Camp is a well-rounded interactive recreational day camp for youth (Grade 1-5). CKC is held at Ball Gymnasium on the campus of Ball State University for Ball State affiliates and non-affiliate community members. Learn more.
Going on a trip and do not have a specific item, but do not feel like buying it? Why not rent it? The Outdoor Pursuits Rental Center offers over 2,000 items, ranging from tents to cookware to cross country skis. Learn more.
