Art Alliance

The David Owsley Museum of Art Alliance was formed to stimulate public interest and participation in the museum's collection, exhibitions, and programs.

Alliance members participate in educational meetings, luncheons, and trips, and volunteer with events and programs at the museum. The Alliance also assists in increasing the museum's revenues for operation and the acquisition of works of art. Funds raised are used for the acquisition of works of art, conservation, and other museum projects.

A contribution of $50 or more is required to join the Alliance.  A member of the Alliance is automatically a member of the Friends of DOMA as well. Monthly luncheons, trips, and occasional programs require additional fees.

DOMA Alliance Meeting Registration and Program Fee Policy

Most Alliance meetings include a catered lunch and a guest speaker.  Meeting pre-registration and program fees are essential for establishing cost estimates, covering catering expenses, and providing speaker fees.

Registration is required for all members and guests requesting lunch, and highly encouraged for members and guests only attending the program.

Lunch fees must be paid in advance. Program fees are most conveniently paid in advance as well. Payment may be made online or by check and must be received by DOMA one week prior to the meeting.

All lunch and program fee payments are non-refundable and will provide financial support to the Alliance if the member or guest is unable to attend. Any non-registered member or guest who arrives at the meeting location will be asked to pay a $5 program fee at the door and will not be served lunch.

Program Fees

  • Lunch and program $25.00
  • Program only $5.00

Registration and payments must be received one week ahead of time and fees are non-refundable. Please see details outlined in the policy.

Friends of DOMA

The Friends of the David Owsley Museum of Art, organized more than 40 years ago, is a group of people dedicated to supporting and enhancing the museum's activities. To become a member of the Friends of DOMA and receive newsletters and other communication from the museum, simply make an annual contribution of $25 or more to the museum. Click here for simple instructions on making a contribution.

The organization supports the acquisitions program, making possible the continued growth of the collection. It also plays a large role in promoting the museum to the Ball State and Muncie-area communities.

The David Owsley Museum of Art has a long and distinguished history. It has taken a leadership role in the visual arts since the university’s founding in 1918, and the Friends of the Museum ensure that it will remain a vital part of the community's cultural offerings. The group’s advisory council meets regularly throughout the year and is instrumental in planning the museum's annual Art in Bloom fundraiser.
