Rachel Buckmaster
Associate Director of the David Owsley Museum of Art
Rachel Buckmaster manages the
operation of the museum, including outreach, finances, and
facilities projects, and oversees a team of dozens of student visitor
assistants and interns.
Born and raised in Muncie, Buckmaster attended Ball State
University, and after graduating with a degree in Political Science, she worked
for over a decade in state and local government in Indianapolis. After receiving a
Master of Arts in Arts Administration and Policy from the School of the Art
Institute of Chicago, Buckmaster spent several years working in SAIC’s
administration in Student Affairs, developing a deeper understanding of the
valuable role of both students and the arts in a community. She
returned to her hometown in 2016 to join the staff of the David Owsley Museum
of Art.
