Volunteer gallery guides (docents) are essential at the David Owsley Museum of Art, especially for tours, special events, and outreach.
The gallery guide learning program allows a small number of select Ball State University students and community members to volunteer and lead group tours of the museum. These museum teachers and students undergo extensive training. They meet once a week with the museum education staff to learn about the collection and effective methods of conducting an engaging tour.
