YOU HAVE THE POWER To Change Lives

CAP Build Challenge 2020

A  LEGACY OF
Excellence

R. Wayne Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning students are:

  • Professionally Prepared
  • Creatively Curious
  • Globally Aware
  • Locally Engaged

As a result, they learn to think independently and become leaders who solve problems throughout their lifetimes. When you nurture the minds and characters of CAP students, you are investing in the future of transformational industries. It’s no wonder that professional designers and planners surveyed by the website “Design Intelligence” consistently rank our programs among the “most hired” and “most admired.”

A CAP education is resource intensive, requiring the right equipment and classroom support, the best faculty, and meaningful partnerships with working professionals. To stay on top, we need the involvement of all CAP supporters through Our Call to Beneficence, Ball State’s comprehensive fundraising campaign.

YOU HAVE THE POWER To Change Lives

Red Quote

Each graduating class builds on our legacy of excellence. But our continuing success comes with an urgent responsibility to future generations. Standing still means falling back, and we must keep advancing. With you as a strategic partner, we will recruit the best students, ensure they have the best studio and learning experiences, and create more opportunities to engage communities in real-life problem solving alongside practicing professionals.”

The Sappenfield Lecture brings a top speaker to campus each year and honors the college’s founding dean, the late Charles M. Sappenfield. Established in 1996, the series is a chance for students and faculty to listen to and interact with leading practitioners. In addition to the Sappenfield Lecture, guest lectures happen once a month. Your support would help us expand the Sappenfield Lecture to twice a year and improve the Guest Lecture Series.

Travel is transformative, forcing us to confront preconceived ideas, think independently, and approach problems from new perspectives. CAP Around the World is a travel fund that covers out-of-pocket costs for future planners and designers to participate in domestic and international field trips. Preference is given to first-generation students and students from underrepresented groups. Also, the John and Ingrid Russell Fund for Immersive Travel Experiences supports student travel as an opportunity for personal growth and is aimed at landscape architecture students with demonstrated financial need. Help us send more students off campus and into the world.
