Studebaker West Complex is one of Ball State’s largest and most dynamic residence halls, situated on the east side of campus. Comprising Painter/Whitcraft and Palmer/Davidson halls, Studebaker West is home to the Social Sciences and Humanities Living-Learning Communities. Known affectionately as "Stu West", the building fosters a lively, tight-knit community where residents often form strong friendships across the building’s many floors.

Studebaker West offers a variety of amenities to enhance student life, including a spacious recreation area in the basement, multiple lounges on each floor, and a large multi-purpose room for events and meetings. The Micro Café on the first floor is perfect for grabbing a quick snack or coffee before heading to class.

This coed residence hall features community-style bathrooms, central air conditioning, and stackable furniture that allows students to customize their living spaces. Behind the building, a large green space provides a peaceful area for hammocking and outdoor activities.
