Students at Orientation

We're excited you'll be joining us for Orientation at Ball State!

On-campus overnight housing is available for students and family members in Ball State's residence halls. You may choose to stay one, two, or three nights as needed. Be sure to note the dates you have chosen to attend Orientation — this information will be needed when registering for overnight housing accommodations.

Make sure that you are signing up for an Orientation session before requesting Orientation housing. This is a critical step in making sure that you're reserving space at Orientation in addition to a place to stay overnight. If you have questions about Orientation, please contact the Office of Orientation at 765-285-8290.

Housing

Student Orientation Housing

Rooms are available for each student in Studebaker East.

To get a taste of what it’s like to live in a residence hall, all students—even commuters—are strongly encouraged to stay. You’ll share a double room with another incoming freshman and have opportunities to meet fellow students and ask questions of orientation leaders.

Each room is:

  • able to accommodate two people of the same gender
  • furnished with two beds, bed linens, pillows, and towels
  • air-conditioned

The room rate for students is $25 per person per night.

Family members and students are not roomed together during Orientation.

Roommate requests are not able to be accepted or considered during Orientation.

Adult family members also may spend the night, in a separate room from their child in Studebaker East. Because of our restroom configuration in Studebaker East Complex, we are not able to provide private facilities for families with minor children.  Because of this we are asking that minor children not be brought to on campus housing for Orientation. As an alternative location, we are encouraging families in this situation to stay at the Ball State Student Center Hotel on campus, you can book online at https://usbsu.webhotel.microsdc.us/

Each room is:

  • able to accommodate two people
  • furnished with two beds, bed linens, pillows, and towels
  • air-conditioned

The room rate for family members is $50 per room per night. Space is limited and not guaranteed, so please make your reservations early.
