Sangwon Lee is an associate professor of marketing in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University. He earned a BA in English from Chung Ang University in Seoul, South Korea, an MBA from Kansas State University and a PhD in Business Administration (Marketing Major) from University of Central Florida.
Sangwon had several years of industry experience as an account manager of LG Ad/WPP Group. His work experience includes planning and developing LG Electronics’ global brand campaign and Gillette’s new product launches in the South Korean market.

Sangwon’s research focuses on how form design of the product helps firms create and appropriate customer value. He received the 2009 Honorable Mention Award at PDMA Dissertation Proposal Competition, 2009 Honorable Mention Award at AMA TechSIG Most Promising Dissertation Competition and 2011 Outstanding Dissertation Award in College of Business Administration at University of Central Florida. He was also a marketing department nominee for 2015 and 2017 Outstanding Research Award in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University. Other research interests include global marketing and brand management.

Sangwon has authored and published several articles of these areas in marketing and business journals including Journal of Marketing, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Brand Management, Journal of Promotion Management, Marketing Management Journal, Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics, Journal of Managerial Issues, Journal of International Consumer Marketing, Asian Journal of Marketing, The Korean Journal of Advertising and Journal of Global Scholars of Marketing Science as well as conference proceedings of the American Marketing Association, Association for Consumer Research, Society for Consumer Psychology, Product Development and Management Association, Marketing Management Association, Global Alliance of Marketing and Management Association, Academy of International Business-Southeast and Korean Scholars of Marketing Science.

Sangwon teaches courses in marketing management (MBA), international marketing, international business and product & brand management. He received the both 2009 University-wide Award and 2009 College-wide Award for Excellence in Graduate Student Teaching at the University of Central Florida. He was also a marketing department nominee for 2012 and 2014 Outstanding Teaching Award in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University. In his time off, he enjoys swimming, snow skiing, and traveling.
