For seventeen years Dr. Van Atta served at Ball State University, eleven of those years as head of the Department of Chemistry and six more as professor of chemistry. His steadfast dedication has been a major force in making analytical chemistry what it is at Ball State today. Dr. Van Atta’s colleagues respect his attention to detail, and former students have praised him for his hard work for their benefit. He has led the way by developing software that has helped incorporate computer usage into the curriculum at Ball State University. Dr. Van Atta has also served on numerous university and departmental committees
