For almost 35 years, Dr. Terry Kruger served the department as an effective teacher, in and out of the classroom. He was one of the founders of the Chemistry Department Summer Research Program in 1974 and for decades he served as the faculty advisor to the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society where his impact on student was most notable. He traveled each year with students to the Pittsburgh Conference which was held in New Orleans, Chicago, Atlanta, and the like, and he encouraged and enabled students to be active and adventurous in their career plans. Colleagues and students remember him as a man of great depth and wonderful stories.
