Accomplishments

Melissa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism/news-editorial in 1993 and has spent her career ensuring brands and organizations effectively leverage their awareness through storytelling, strategic activation, community-based collaborative partnerships and integrated marketing. She most recently served as Sr. Vice President of Sponsorships and Corporate Communications for Group1001 and the Gainbridge brand where she lead the company’s corporate social responsibility programs and brokered sponsorship relationships with the LPGA, INDYCAR and Andretti Autosport to name a few. She transitioned within her company as Executive Director of Indy Women and Tech, a 501(c)3 organization with a mission to inspire and empower girls and women to pursue STEM education and careers in tech before venturing out on her own, owning her own strategic marketing and sponsorships firm: Yellow Chair Partners. Melissa resides in Carmel with her husband, Mark, and is stepmom to 18-year-old Evan. Melissa was named Communicator of the Year by the International Association of Business Communicators/Indianapolis and is a member of Epsilon Eta Chapter of Tri Kappa, American Legion Auxiliary Post 500 and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s Executive Leadership Committee for its Students of the Year program.
