Emile Dixon is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Architecture at Ball State University, one of the Co-Director of the Masters of Architecture Program and  CEO of HEEK Group, Inc., and a current Associate at METICULOUSDA. My academic career started at Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Alabama, as an assistant professor of architecture in the Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science. He received his Master of Architecture from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida. He further investigated this theory, ultimately developing his thesis “Designing for the Forgotten: Eliminating the Stigma of Affordable Housing.” During his undergraduate career and by the influence of his incredible mentor and other professors in the BSU architecture program, understanding the social justice paradigm of architecture and design. During his formative years, he learned that architecture could allow him to change the landscape through design suggestions that could improve the quality of life, particularly in the distressed inner-city neighborhood surrounding him. He is a proud Aluma of the College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University (BSU) in Muncie, Indiana.
