The Student Center is more than just a hub for fun and free events—it's also home to many key offices and organizations that contribute to campus life. Student organizations that enrich the university with entertainment and educational opportunities, such as the Office of Student Life and Spirit and Traditions, are based here. Additionally, the Student Center houses offices for fraternity and sorority governance, volunteer organizations, and many other groups that foster community, leadership, and student engagement at Ball State.

The Student Center provides a diverse range of rooms and setups to host your events and meetings. Meeting rooms are available at no cost for on-campus student organizations, academic, and administrative events—just fill out our online request form to secure your space. Additionally, please note that University Catering is the exclusive catering service for the Student Center, ensuring your event is well-fed and enjoyable.

The Student Center Tally offers a variety of dining options to satisfy any craving. Enjoy a Starbucks coffee, grab a bite at Taco Bell, or visit our chef action station for freshly prepared meals. We also feature hearty soups and a salad bar with over 35 fresh greens, vegetables, fruits, and other delicious toppings, perfect for building your ideal salad.

The Student Center Post Office is conveniently located in the basement of the Student Center (SC L15). Please note, the office is closed daily from 2:00PM to 3:00PM

The primary purpose of the Billiards Room is to provide a fun, engaging activity space for Ball State University students and their guests. This space is available for reservation by student organizations in good standing, university departments, faculty, and staff for private events. When reserved for a private event, appropriate signage will be displayed, and reservations will take priority.

Billiards Room Rules:

  • Pool cues must remain at waist level and should only be used for their intended purpose. Misuse may result in removal from the room and potential future restrictions.
  • Keep all food, drinks, and personal items off the pool tables.
  • Treat the equipment with respect and return it in the condition you found it.
  • Refrain from sitting on the tables.
  • Help maintain a clean environment by disposing of trash properly.
  • Ensure the room is left as clean—or cleaner—than when you arrived.

 

Hot Heads Hair Design is your go-to salon, conveniently located on the lower level of the Ball State Student Center, SC L-21. We’re excited to introduce Hot Heads on Campus, a Paul Mitchell styling salon open to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We love meeting new guests!

Our salon features four styling chairs and a waxing station, offering a full range of services including cuts, colors, balayage, highlights, ombré, keratin treatments, conditioning, brows, and beard grooming. We also carry a complete line of Paul Mitchell hair care products for purchase.

Owned and operated by Ball State alumna Tena Rees, Hot Heads is proud to be back on campus, delivering top-quality services.

  • administers the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities
  • responds to allegations of misconduct
  • provides support to the Associate Provost in grade appeals and academic misconduct procedures
  • helps students understand and navigate other university policies and procedures
  • oversees compliance with the Clery Act publishing annual security and fire safety reports for students, employees, and the general public.

Student Legal Services (SLS) can help you with

  • criminal law
  • all areas of civil law, including landlord/tenant, contracts, consumer, employment, tort, debtor/creditor, probate, real estate, traffic tickets, and family matters
  • provide you with legal reference materials and fill-in-the blank forms for leases, subleases, housing inspection forms, and roommates' agreements.  We also prepare some contracts and other legal documents.
