Wednesday, January 15 @ 1pm ~ ULTRAS: SPA and Smart Data (zoom): How to allocate your PCard charges to a grant - Join SPA to learn more about the PCard process and how it relates to grant funding. This session will provide an open format for discussion and questions and provide time with Grant Managers for Q&A. 

Tuesday, January 28 @ 1:30pm ~ How to: Finding Funding Opportunities (zoom): Join Augusta Isley, Associate Director of Pre Award Development and Outreach for a journey into the pre- of preaward: finding funding opportunities. Isley will guide attendees through the resources available at BSU and how they can frame a search to be successful.

Tuesday, February 11 @ 1030am ~ RIA Account Overview (zoom): Recognized Incentive Activity (RIA) accounts are established to hold funds for faculty and staff. Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) is responsible for the curation of these accounts and routinely fields questions about allowable purchases and deposits. This session may be of interest to you if you are 1) an administrator managing department accounts, including RIAs, 2) a faculty member with an RIA, and/or 2) an employee at the University who is wondering “What is an RIA and why would I have one?”.

Monday, February 17 @ 3pm ~ NSF CAREER Proposal & Learning Cohort Opportunity (BL Schwartz Complex): Join SPA Proposal Manager, Maria Bumbalough, and Augusta Isley, Associate Director of Pre Award Development and Outreach for an overview of the NSF CAREER Proposal for faculty career development, what it is, what it means to be awarded, and how you can be a part of a CAREER learning cohort.

Wednesday, February 19 @ 1pm ~ ULTRAS: Reporting and Reconciliation (zoom): How to use Argos and SSB to understand your grant - Join SPA to learn more about Grant Transaction reports, SSB’s Multi-Year Query function and discuss the multiple ways to manage grant funds. This session will provide an open format for discussion and questions and provide time with Grant Managers for Q&A.

Tuesday, February 25 @ 12pm ~ Grant Basics for Graduate Students (BL Schwartz Complex): Applying for grants to support your academic scholarship can be daunting for even the most seasoned professional. For graduate students, being funded by a grant can accelerate their work and provide a unique set of transferable skills. This session especially targeted for graduate students, hosted in partnership with Ball State’s Sponsored Projects Administration and the Graduate School, will cover: how students can identify funding opportunities, considerations when applying for funding, getting started with grant writing and budget development basics.
