We invite students who achieved Dean's List honors to attend a special reception recognizing their academic excellence and accomplishments.
Pollinator Party
The BSU Field Station and Environmental Education Center will host a Pollinator Party on September 12 from 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Families and visitors can learn about bees, bats, butterflies, birds, and other pollinators from local experts, see examples firsthand, and create crafts celebrating these tiny heroes. Visitors are also encouraged to bring the largest sunflower head from their garden for the event’s first Sunflower Showdown, with a prize awarded to the largest sunflower by diameter.
Bell Tower Tour and Recital

Enjoy a special Bell Tower recital and learn more about this beloved Ball State landmark during a guided tour that takes you to the TOP of Shafer Tower.
Free Bus to Charlie Town and the Football Game

Take advantage of free transportation to CharlieTown and the Ball State football game. Buses will pick up guests from several locations, including University Green.
Living Worlds Planetarium Show

Join narrator Daveed Diggs on a journey through space and time to discover how life makes Earth livable, where it could be found elsewhere in the cosmos, and what new technologies might be used to find it. Programs start promptly at the advertised time. Doors close once full or five (5) minutes after showtime, and no entry is permitted after that time. The room gets dark after the start time, and we strongly recommend arriving early.
Programs are free unless otherwise noted and seating is done first-come, first-served.
Recommended for adults and ages 10+.
The Great Solar System Adventure Planetarium Show

This character-led adventure takes you through the dangers and wonders of our Solar System and beyond—fasten your seatbelt and see if you have the courage to make it home in one piece!
Recommended for ages 8+.
Note: Dome motion is common in planetarium shows, and this program has especially strong motion—be advised.
Magic Tree House: Space Mission Planetarium Show

Travel with Jack and Annie, stars of the Magic Tree House® best-selling children’s book series, as they search for answers to a mysterious riddle and meet a helpful astronomer and astronaut.
Perfect for families and groups with K through 3rd grade learners.

Saturday, September 12 vs. Stony Brook | 2 p.m. | Scheumann Stadium
Celebrate the start of the 2026 season by recognizing local heroes and welcoming families back to Scheumann Stadium.
Fans are encouraged to wear WHITE and arrive early to receive a white rally towel while supplies last. As part of our recognition of the 25th anniversary of 9/11, a military aircraft flyover will take place during the National Anthem.
A fire truck will also be on site for a special photo opportunity.
A Hometown Heroes ticket deal will be available. For ticket information, first responders can contact the Ball State Ticket Office.
CCIM Dean’s List Open House Saturday, September 12th from 9 – 10:30am
This open house recognizes the dedication on the part of our CCIM students who have been selected to be a part of the dean's list. Please join us in the Letterman Lobby on Saturday, September 12th from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. for celebration, conversation, and light breakfast refreshments. CCIM Students who have been named to the dean’s list have been sent communications from the CCIM dean’s office, so please be sure to RSVP if you are interested in attending.
