Concerned about the transition to college? Get yourself set up for success by joining Disability Services' Summer Bridge Program. Participating students with disabilities will work on developing a strong sense of belonging and community, an understanding of their role and responsibilities as a student and building strong self-advocacy tools. Students will learn how to:

  • Navigate campus with relative comfort and locate key resources on campus.
  • Create an understanding of what resources are available and how to utilize them.
  • Develop skills to help them self-advocate on campus and in their courses and cultivate a sense of belonging on campus.
  • Understand the differences between high school and college accommodations and how their role as a student has evolved.
  • Participate in an individual Accommodation Meeting to set up academic accommodations and be ready to share their letters with faculty.

Eligible students will be first-time freshmen and will have already registered with the Office of Disability Services prior to their Summer Bridge registration. Direct any questions you may have to Disability Services, 765-285-5293 or dsd@bsu.edu
