We're excited you're interested in living at Ball State's University Apartments! Please read the information below for further information regarding eligibility and requirements to live in the University Apartments.
To live in University Apartments, a person must fit at least one of the following descriptions:
- A student with spouse or partner
- A student with dependent children
- Upper-level or graduate single student (60 or more credit hours)
- A student who is 21 years of age or older
- A student who has lived in a Ball State residence hall for at least two years
Academic Requirements
Hopeful residents must be admitted to the University and all account holds must be cleared before they will be sent a contract. Residents of our apartment communities must be enrolled in at least eight undergraduate credit hours per semester or six graduate credit hours per semester at Ball State.
Single students below junior status are not eligible unless they have lived in a Ball State residence hall for at least two years or are at least 21 years old. Students with disabilities may be assigned, by recommendation of the Office of Disability Services, to a limited number of modified units.
Eligibility of Floor Plans
The University Apartments offer different floor plans with one, two, or three bedrooms. Eligibility for each apartment type depends on the number of occupants.
The University Apartments office requires documentation of dependency (birth certificate) or co-dependency (marriage certificate or joint bank account) to verify a family member—child, spouse, or partner.
One-Bedroom Apartments are available for:
- 1 student
- 1 student and non-student family member(s)
Two-Bedroom Apartments are available for:
- 1 student
- 1 student and non-student family member(s)
- 2 students
Three-Bedroom Apartments are available for:
- 3 students
- 1 student and at least two non-student family members
