The GIS Research and Map Collection (GRMC) offers a substantial collection of cartographic resources, GIS software, consultative and instructional services to advance GIS research, expert mapping assistance, and cartographic reference and instructional services using a wide-ranging collection of geospatial materials.

The GIS Research and Map Collection is currently open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

View Staff Directory

Collections

Find printed maps, charts, atlases, gazetteers, travel guides and cartographic reference materials by searching in OneSearch or browsing in the Map Collection.
View digital and digitized versions of the collection by searching the Digital Media Repository and Cardinal Scholar repository.
Use Delaware County GIS datasets and selected sets from Henry and Marion County.
Use Indiana, National and World GIS data and online mapping applications.

Services

Work with GIS and Map Collection staff (in person, online, or via email) for assistance in locating and using collections and other resources or to receive personalized research assistance.
Request an online or in-person extended research consultation with expert GIS and Map personnel.
Collaborate with GRMC personnel to create custom maps, lessons, and educational activities for use in the K-12 classroom and commemorative exhibits.
Consult research guides on a range of subject areas.
Access online training including ESRI E-Learning and GRMC-created tutorials.
Schedule instruction or orientation sessions customized for your courses by contacting area personnel.

Technology and Spaces

Reserve the GIS Research Area for classes and presentation requiring GIS and related geospatial software.
Use ESRI ArcGIS, ArcPad, ArcGIS Pro and other mapping and analytic software on 28 high-end computers.
Learn how to obtain GIS and related software for your office or personal computer
Print large-scale projects (from 12” x 18” to 42” up to 108”).
Laminate materials up to 40” wide.
Create an ArcGIS Online account and start creating online mapping applications.
