The Andrew Seager Archives of the Built Environment, a Division of University Libraries, located in the College of Architecture and Planning, is a unique resource dedicated to preserving the history of Indiana's built environment.

Our collections contain over 130,000 original architectural drawings, landscape plans, blueprints, photographs, models, and building remnants that tell the stories of Indiana’s buildings, sites, and structures.

The Architecture Library features collection and service to advance research in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, interior design, construction management, historic preservation, and urban design. The Architecture Library collections include the Architecture Images Collection, the Architecture Images Teaching Collection, and the Building Material Samples Collection of innovative and sustainable materials.

The Architecture Library is located in the R. Wayne Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning in AB116. The Building Material Samples Collection is right next door in AB117.

The General Collection has books on a wide variety of subjects that support the Ball State curriculum. This is the largest book collection in the Libraries and located throughout Bracken Library’s second, third, and fourth floors. It is arranged according to the Library of Congress classification system. Book Locations and Floorplans are available online and posted on all floors to help you navigate the collection.

Use OneSearch to find items in this collection. Expert research assistance is available via Ask A Librarian. General assistance in locating books is available at the Library Information Desk in the Bracken Library lobby.

The GIS Research and Map Collection (GRMC), located on Bracken Library 2 East, offers a substantial collection of cartographic resources, GIS software, consultative services to advance GIS research, expert mapping assistance, and cartographic reference services using a wide-ranging collection of geospatial materials.

The GRMC also provides customized cartographic instructional sessions, a large GIS research area, and a growing collection of digital resources.

The Health Library (HL) provides access to collections and services supporting research in the health professions and sciences including counseling, counseling psychology, social psychology, kinesiology, nursing, nutrition and health science, social work, speech pathology and audiology.

The Reference Collection and Government Publications provides access to comprehensive and specialized encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks and other research resources.

University Libraries is also part of the Federal Depository Library and Indiana State Depository System that includes the wealth of information created by U.S. government and Indiana state agencies.
