Char Hawkins serves as Director of Student Success Initiatives at Ball State University, where she advances strategic efforts to support student persistence and achievement while also supervising a dedicated team of student success coaches. With more than 20 years of service to the Muncie community, Char brings a strong background in nonprofit leadership and a deep commitment to expanding opportunity and access for students from all backgrounds. Throughout her career, Char has been passionate about walking alongside individuals as they pursue their goals. She believes in the power of meaningful relationships, encouragement, and practical support to help students navigate challenges and build confidence in their abilities. Her leadership is grounded in a student-centered approach that values resilience, growth, and belonging, and she is committed to fostering a campus culture where all students feel supported and empowered to succeed. A proud Ball State graduate, Char also earned her Master of Public Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. She has called Muncie home since her undergraduate years and remains deeply invested in the community she shares with her husband and children.
