Amanda Bird
Success Initiatives Coordinator
Born and raised in Muncie and a first-generation college
student, Amanda has a love for the city and Ball State. After graduating high school, she attended
Ball State University earning her associate’s degree. She began her career at Ball State in 2006
working as a records assistant in the Registrar’s Office for seven years before
taking an office assistant position in Academic Advising in 2013. Through a restructure within University
College in 2023, Amanda now serves as an administrative coordinator for the Assistant
Dean of University College. She loves her job and enjoys working with all her
coworkers within University College which houses Academic Advising, First-Year
Experience, Learning Center, Student Athlete Support Services, and Student
Success Coaching. She is also a great
resource to students when directing them to the specific office and support
systems they need to succeed on campus.
When not at work, Amanda is an outdoor enthusiast. She enjoys a wide range of activities
including swimming, kayaking, biking, hiking, and golfing.
Above all, Amanda cherishes her time with her husband,
Derek and their two children, Rhett and Riverly. Guided by the motto “Live Life to the
Fullest,” she finds her greatest joy in her family and the vibrant community she
serves.
