Philip DeCicca is the Phyllis A. Miller Distinguished Professor of Health Economics at Ball State University. DeCicca earned his Ph.D. in economics at the University of Michigan and previously taught at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.  His work focuses on the impact of public policies on individual behavior, much of which involves topics in the economics of smoking, and, more recently, the possible causal relationship between education and health. Phil is a past winner of the John Charles Polanyi Prize in economics, is a Research Associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and serves as associate editor for Journal of Health Economics.
