Janet Loren Hill is an interdisciplinary artist, whose practice spans painting, video, installation, sculpture, and performance. Her research examines the visual languages of propaganda, surveillance aesthetics, and systems of power through the construction of fictional worlds that draw on the histories of American company towns. Hill holds an MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and a BFA from the University of Washington; her work has been featured in Artnet, Hyperallergic, The Boston Globe, Boston Art Review, Widewalls, W Magazine, and New American Paintings, and has been recently presented in a two-person museum exhibition at Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art.
