If you have a current Ball State parking permit, you need to register each vehicle that will be using it.

This means you…

  • must report changes to the license plate number or registered owner within five business days
  • cannot use your permit on a vehicle that belongs to another student, employee, or a family member of another student or employee
  • cannot register a vehicle that belongs to another student, employee, or a family member of another student or employee

Violations of these requirements may result in a citation or revocation of your parking privileges.

To add a vehicle to your permit or make a change to a currently registered vehicle, you must provide the following information to the Office of Parking Services.

  • license plate number
  • registration state
  • license plate type
  • license plate expiration date (month/year)
  • vehicle year
  • vehicle make
  • vehicle color
  • registered owner’s name, address, and relationship to you

Instructions

You must update your permit online. We cannot make changes in the office or over the phone.

Add or Edit a Vehicle

To update the information for a vehicle that is already registered with the University:

  1. Visit our online portal.
  2. In the top-right corner, Select “Login.”
  3. Select “Affiliated Login.”
  4. Enter your Ball State username and password.
  5. In the bottom-left corner, select “View Your Permits.”
  6. Select your current permit.
  7. Click on the plate number in the list of Associated Vehicles.
  8. Choose “Edit.”
  9. Follow the prompts for the required information.

To add a new vehicle to your existing permit:

  1. Visit our online portal.
  2. In the top-right corner, Select “Login.”
  3. Select “Affiliated Login.”
  4. Enter your Ball State username and password.
  5. In the bottom-left corner, select “View Your Permits.”
  6. Select your current permit.
  7. At the bottom, select the “Add Vehicles to Permit” button.
  8. Choose either:
  9. a. previously registered vehicle from the list, then select “Add the selected vehicle”
    b. the “Add a new vehicle” button
  10. Follow the prompts for required information.

Rental or Loaner Cars

Do not use your regular Ball State parking permit on a rental or loaner car. If you will be driving one, we will issue you a free temporary permit for the lot you have for your main permit.

To receive your free temporary permit, bring the following information for the rental/loaner car to the Office of Parking Services.

  • license plate number
  • registration state
  • vehicle make
  • vehicle color
  • rental company or car dealership’s address
