Deanna Zimmer
Director of Development-MCOB
From the beginning of her career, Deanna Zimmer has been the type of person who cares more about teamwork and solutions than job descriptions.
In fact, she once earned a “Bagger of the Week” award from PayLess Supermarket even though she was not a clerk and did not even work for the grocery store. She was branch manager of a bank inside the supermarket and would bag groceries during her down time.
Her spirit of pitching in, helping out and solving problems is also evident at Ball State. In addition to being a Director of Development for the Miller College of Business, she also serves on the University’s Council on the Environment (COTE) and the Inspiration and Recognition Committee.
Deanna, who holds degrees from Anderson University and Ball State, is at home in the higher education environment, because she considers herself to be a lifetime student and is a firm believer that everyone should learn something new every day. In her free time, she loves to play word games (Wordle, Words with Friends, and Bananagrams), readd, cook, and spend time with her family.
Deanna and her husband, Thom, have three children, Austin, Jackson, Adilyn, and an American Bulldog named Charli. Austin and his wife Emily are both graduates of Ball State.
IN DEANNA’S WORDS
“I am passionate about building meaningful relationships with our alumni and friends while helping them achieve their personal philanthropic goals.”
