Cheryl Montgomery
Assistant Lecturer for Social and Environmental Justice for Architecture/Urban Planning
Cheryl Montgomery is a PhD candidate at Virginia Polytechnic and State University. Her research and teaching interests center around American Racism with a focus on Black women's lived experiences. Specifically, her dissertation research examines the ways in which Black women choose to commune in, take up, and recast their physical spaces to (re)imagine community otherwise. She is a joint hire between the departments of architecture and urban planning and specializes in black studies, city planning, and community engagement.
