Robert E Dirden serves as full-time teaching faculty, student designer advisor, designer and mentor for the Department of Theatre and Dance’s DTO program and has lived in Muncie for 35 years. Robert has more than 20 years of experience working as a costume designer and hair and makeup designer. This 2015-2016 school year will be his 7th year teaching Stage Makeup, Advanced Stage Makeup, Hair and Wig Design and Theatre 100 at Ball State University. He is a graduate of Muncie Central high school. Robert did both his undergraduate and graduate work at Ball State University.
Robert’s Costume and Makeup Designs have been featured in recent Ball State productions of Into the Woods, Camino Real, HAIR, The Drowsy Chaperone, and 42nd Street just to name a few.
Mr. Dirden has worked as a costume designer, wardrobe head, makeup designer, set designer, wig master, producer and director for over 200 productions at Ball State and Muncie Civic Theatre.
