 Robert E Dirden serves as an associate teaching professor, student designer mentor, and designer for the Department of Theatre and Dance’s DTO program and has lived in Muncie for 40 years. Robert has more than 30 years of experience working as a costume designer and hair and makeup designer for theatre. The 2021-2022 school year will be his 14th year teaching Stage Makeup, at Ball State University. He is a graduate of Muncie Central High School. Robert did both his undergraduate and graduate work here at Ball State University. Robert’s Costume and Makeup Designs have been featured in recent Ball State productions of The Camino Real, HAIR, The Drowsy Chaperone, Equus, The Full Monty, Shrek, The Nutcracker, Hairspray, A Christmas Carol, Company, and A Little Night Music just to name a few. Mr. Dirden has worked as a costume designer, makeup designer, set designer, wig master, producer and director for over 200 productions at Ball State University and Muncie Civic Theatre.
