Ball State has four main start dates – in the fall, spring, and two in the summer. We accept applications all year. Make sure you know which semester you wish to begin.

How to Apply

The application process will depend on what type of student you are:

Transfer Student

If you have attended or earned credits from any college or university other than Ball State, even if it was many years ago, you will need to follow the transfer student admission process. This includes students who earned an associate degree.

Returning Ball State Student

If you have attended Ball State and earned credit, even if it was many years ago, or a Ball State associate degree, we have two easy options for you.

New Ball State Student (no prior college credit)

If you have never attended a college or university, learn about our admission requirements and process for first-time college students.

Non-Degree Student

If you’d like to earn credit for your course work but are not pursuing a degree, you may apply as a non-degree-seeking student.

Guest Student

If you are enrolled at another college or university and want to take Ball State courses to transfer that credit back to your home institution, learn about guest enrollment.
