string ensemble rehearses in a practice room

String Chamber Music

Undergraduate and graduate string students are organized into small ensembles per proficiency, for the study of trios, quartets, quintets, and similar types of repertoire. Ensembles meet with an appropriate studio professor for weekly coaching, leading to on-campus public performances, master classes with visiting artists, and off-campus opportunities.

If you are interested in playing in a string chamber ensemble, please contact Dr. Peter Opie, coordinator of strings.

Harp Ensemble

The Ball State University Harp Ensemble offers students the opportunity to perform challenging repertoire for multiple harps. The ensemble rehearses once a week under the direction of Dr. Joanne King. It is open to all interested harp majors and minors.

If you are interested in joining the ensemble, please contact Dr. Joanne King.
