Admissions
All students must apply to both the School of Music and to Ball State University. International students should begin the application process through the Rinker Center for Global Affairs.
Undergraduate Auditions
Prospective undergraduate music majors and minors are required to audition for admission to the School of Music, as well as for scholarship consideration. You must audition on a primary instrument with appropriate faculty from that area.

Graduate Auditions
Auditions are required for all graduate performance applicants, while a portfolio review is required for music composition, theory, music education, and musicology graduate applicants. Auditions may be scheduled individually with the applied performance or conducting professor.
