Joey Lavarias
Assistant Teaching Professor of Music (Bassoon/Generalist)
Mr. Lavarias is an active bassoonist and he performs as an orchestral player, a chamber and solo bassoonist and covers a wide variety of genres. He is a founding member of the Cardinal Sound Collective, a flexible woodwind ensemble based in Greensboro with a focus on underrepresented composers and community engagement. In addition to his work as a bassoonist, he also has experience in teaching music theory.
