Cathy L. Z. DuBois, Ph.D., joined Ball State University in July 2023 as the Bryan Dean of the Miller College of Business. She previously served as associate dean for administration and as associate dean for graduate and online programs in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Kent State University. Prior to her administrative roles, she served as professor of management and information systems, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in human resource management and organizational behavior. She holds a PhD in industrial relations and human resource management from the University of Minnesota.

Dean DuBois’s research has addressed the role of the Human Resource function in organizational sustainability initiatives, workplace public health issues, workplace gender issues, and organizational training issues, among other topics. Her publications have appeared in journals such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Human Resource Management, Psychology of Women Quarterly, and Sex Roles. She currently sits on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Management Inquiry.

For more than a decade Dean DuBois has been a champion for positive societal impact. She currently serves on the Chapter North America Steering Committee for Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). She served as steering committee chair for the AACSB Responsible Management Education (RME) affinity group from 2018 – 2021. She launched the Ambassador Crawford College Responsible Leadership Initiative in 2017 and led the embedding of responsible management and the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals into research and teaching throughout the college. She also served as an AASHE STARS Technical Advisor from 2011-2014.
