Teaching philosophy

As an instructor, my primary goals are to 1) foster scientific literacy and 2) develop strong skills in critical thinking, communication and collaboration. These foundational skills will prepare students both for the demands of future careers and to participate as literate members of society.

Teaching interests

My teaching interests include ANAT 201 Introduction to Human Anatomy, BIO 111 Introduction to Biology, BIO 100 Biology for a Modern Society, PHYS 215 Human Physiology.

Research interests

My research interests are the evolution, diversity, and systematic relationships of rodents and small mammals. I integrate anatomical and morphometric data, phylogenomic data, and biogeographic data in my research. I am particularly interested in exploring museum collections as sources of hidden morphologic and taxonomic diversity.
