"Greening of the Campus III: Theory and Reality" provided a new opportunity to further explore the critical issues, problems, and solutions we still face on our campuses and in our world on the eve of the new century and millennium.

As a follow-up to the previous conference, Greening of the Campus II, more than 200 participants from many countries attended “Greening of the Campus III: Theory and Reality”, September 30-October 2, 1999.  Conference participants once again explored strategies for making colleges and universities environmentally sensitive models for society.

Keynote speakers included David Orr, Robert Costanza, Hilary French, Susan Flader, and John Ryan.  Educators, researchers and consultants presented technical papers and workshops exploring a variety of technical, educational, social, political and spiritual issues.  Paper categories ranged from curriculum development and restructuring to physical facility operations and management.
