Audrey Jacobs comes to DOMA from Florida State University, where she is finishing her doctorate in Visitor-Centered Curation and Education in the Art Education department. She received a Master’s in Art History and Certificate of Museum Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2014. Soon after, she served as museum educator for six years at Čhatkú Arts Center (then, The Heritage Center) at Maȟpíya Lúta, a contemporary Native art museum in South Dakota. There, in partnership with her Indigenous colleagues, she built school, youth, and adult programming ranging from kid documentary filmmaking to continuing education coursework for K-12 educators. Her time at Čhatkú Arts Center deepened an interest in working closely with schools; this in time inspired her dissertation research on school-museum partnerships and ultimately brought her to DOMA, where she started in May 2026.
