This annual award recognizes 100 outstanding junior and senior undergraduates who represent the spirit of Beneficence, Ball State’s institutional statue and icon that symbolizes the generosity of the five Ball brothers whose land donation to the State of Indiana allowed the University to flourish.

Annie Burns-Hicks received the President’s Medal of Distinction from Ball State President Geoffrey S. Ball State University May 2022 graduate Alexa McDonald, of Hilliard, Ohio, has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship in recognition of her accomplishments in academics, athletics, extracurricular activities, and community service. A member of Ball State’s Swimming and Diving team from 2018-2022, Ms. McDonald was one of only 21 female Spring sport athletes nationwide to receive this $10,000 scholarship.

Four recent Ball State University graduates have been chosen for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program—one of the most prestigious and widely recognized international programs, which grants support for pursuing graduate studies, conducting research, or teaching English abroad.
