In order to receive services at the Health Center, students must pay the Health Fee.
.
The Health Fee covers office visits and plan of care by a doctor or nurse practitioner at both the Health Center and the Women's Center. Evaluation by our physical therapist and treatment is also included.
There may be out-of-pocket costs during a visit at the Health Center or Women's Center that are not covered by the Health Fee. The Health Center and Women's Center do not bill any insurance for services provided at the time of a visit. The cost of these services is often minimal and may even be less than the typical deductible paid to your insurance. If you want to have any services billed to insurance, we recommend you contact your insurance company. They will be able to direct you to a local primary care provider in your insurance network with whom you can establish as a new patient. Otherwise, cost of services provided at the Health Center or Women's Center must be paid at the time of the visit or they can be put on your Ball State University account/eBill to be paid later. The Health Center and Women's Center are able to accept Credit/Debit cards for the cost of services.
Insurance can be used for any laboratory testing sent from the Health Center or Women's Center to the IUHealth lab. It is your responsibility to determine if IUHealth lab is in-network for your insurance. If IUHealth lab is not in-network, your cost may be substantially higher. Only your insurance can tell you if the cost of lab testing will be covered.
Please bring your insurance card or a copy of the front and back of your card with you to your visit for these additional costs.
If you do not have health insurance, please let us know during your visit.
