September 17th is Constitution Day, the 237th birthday of the signing of the United States landmark founding document! Celebrate in Bracken Library Room 215 and take home a pocket Constitution book, read a facsimile of the original handwritten document, test your constitution trivia smarts, do Constitution crosswords, and use a calligraphy pen to practice writing like the Founding Fathers. Be sure to leave a personal message about what our Constitutional freedoms mean to you! Contact Katie Lorton for accommodations for this event.

In conjunction with the 4th biennial Indiana Clay Conference, the juried component of the State of Clay in Indiana IV exhibition will highlight the diverse work made by clay artists who have lived or worked in the state of Indiana, while the invitational component of the exhibition spotlights the work of the conference organizers. The exhibition will be juried by Lenny Dowhie. Reception is October 4 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

Explore the art of tree painting in this hands-on class for all skill levels. Create two tree paintings—one in watercolor and one in acrylic—while learning key techniques in color blending, brushwork, and composition.

$5 BSU students, $10 Public / limited spots; Connect with the universe through accessible Vinyasa yoga at the Brown Planetarium, where people of all experience levels can move under the stars during an astronomy-themed practice. Ages 12+. Registration required.

Event Description: This is a community conversation on the purpose of public education, facilitated by two educators who prepare future teachers. The purpose of public schools has always been contested, and at a time of heightened debate about their role in society, we’ll reflect together on what public education is for, who it serves, and how it shapes our communities.
