Our program offers a blend of in-person classes and clinical experiences at a variety of both on-campus and off-campus clinical education sites.

School counselors teach classroom lessons on social and emotional skills, run individual and small group counseling, guide students through college and career planning, respond to crises and support students through trauma, and partner with teachers, families, administrators, and other educational partners to close opportunity gaps so every student can succeed academically and in life. This information session introduces Ball State's Master of Arts in School Counseling program, grounded in the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model, and shows you what it takes to lead, advocate, and collaborate for systemic change in PK-12 schools. Additional Information: Information sessions are virtual, but the School Counseling Program is on-campus. This is not a distance education training program. Important Note: The priority review deadline for Fall 2027 admissions is March 1, 2027, for priority applicants and June 15, 2027, for all other applicants. The program admits students only once per year to start in the fall as a cohort.
