New undergraduate students from three states in the Midwest may qualify for dramatically reduced tuition through the Ball State Midwest Regional Scholarship. This award allows legal residents of Illinois, Kentucky, and Michigan to attend Ball State and save more than $50,000 over the course of four years from our regular tuition rate for out-of-state students.
This scholarship reduces Ball State’s full-time, on-campus tuition and student services fee for qualified out-of-state residents to total no more than 150% of the full-time, in-state tuition and student services fee paid by Indiana residents. Graduate, Online, distance, and off-campus tuition is not eligible for this discount.
This award applies only to tuition and the student services fee. Recipients remain responsible for all other Ball State fees, including the University technology, recreation center, health center, residence hall technology, overload, and course fees.

This scholarship is open to legal residents of the following states:
This award is limited to full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate students (enrolled for 12-18 hours per semester). Recipients must be enrolled in on-campus classes.
Eligibility is available to applicants who are enrolling at Ball State for the first time beginning in Fall 2023. Current or previously enrolled students are not eligible.
To qualify for this scholarship, new first-time undergraduate students must have a cumulative weighted high school GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale). Eligible transfer students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution and 15 transferable credit hours.
Recipients of the Presidential Scholarship, Ball State Scholars Award, or Transfer Academic Distinction Scholarship are not eligible for the Ball State Midwest Regional Scholarship. Since the Ball State Midwest Regional Scholarship has a greater value, it will be awarded instead of the Distinction Scholarship for qualifying new, first-time undergraduate students.
Once a student is awarded the Ball State Midwest Regional Scholarship, that student shall continue to receive the discounted fee as long as the student maintains continuous enrollment (or has approved leave of absence) and maintains satisfactory academic progress.
