Juli Thorson
Professor Emerita of Philosophy
Dr. Juli K Thorson earned her PHD in philosophy from the University of Washington. Prior to that, she graduated with a BA in philosophy from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She has been at Ball State University since the fall of 1990 and was Chair of the department from 2001 to 2011. She teaches Introduction to Philosophy, Symbolic Logic, Epistemology, and Feminist Ethics and Epistemology.
Dr. Thorson’s research specialties are epistemology, feminist epistemology, virtue epistemology, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. She regularly serves as and external reviewer for philosophy departments at colleges and universities.
